Following a site visit last month by Short Wood Primary School’s reception class, artwork has now been recreated as a 14 metre mural on the hoarding of our Oakwood site in Wellington, Shropshire.
The mural was officially unveiled on July 3rd at a ceremony attended by the children and their teachers together with residents of an existing Trust development in Telford.
Jane Doult from Short Wood Primary School said; “We’re thrilled with the finished mural and have already received lovely feedback from the local community who have told us it makes them smile! What a wonderful outcome.”
Assistant Project Manager from The Wrekin Housing Trust, Jane Kind said; “The mural is fantastic and the children have been very interested in how new homes are built. New homes for older people are much needed and we’re pleased to be investing in purpose built housing like Oakwood (which provides integrated services for people as they age.)”
McPhillips began work on the development in January which is on target for completion next year.
Mark Kiddie, of McPhillips said; “We want to thank the children from Short Wood Primary School for making their mark on what is a project for the whole community, young and old alike.”
